By-, local elections begin throughout Ethiopia

The by-election of the House of Peoples Representatives and local election began early on Sunday through out Ethiopia.

The elections began in Afar, Oromia, Tigray, Amhara, Benishangul Gumuz, South Ethiopia Peoples and Gambella states and Addis Ababa City Administration.

The by-election of the House of Peoples Representatives and election of the Members of parliament of the Addis Ababa City Council started here as early as 6:00 AM.

The elections began in the over 1,700 polling stations set up throughout the city.

Before the beginning of the election, ballots were confirmed to be void by election observers and contesting party representatives, according to ENA.reporters assigned in various polling stations both in the city and regions.
